Self-Employed Stylists
Some stylists working within Hair at the Hideaway are self-employed and operate their own independent businesses. Hair at the Hideaway is not responsible for any services, complaints, corrections, or redo requests relating to services provided by self-employed stylists. Each self-employed stylist has their own terms, conditions, and redo policy. If your service was carried out by a self-employed stylist, you must contact them directly to discuss any concerns or arrange any corrective work.
Your satisfaction is important to us, and we will always do our best to resolve any genuine concerns fairly and professionally.
Consultation Fees
We charge £15 for a colour consultation – this is a 30 minute appointment where we will discuss all your colour ideas and offer our expert advice. This will include your Colourstart patch so you do not have to have a blob test. (Colourstart retails at £15)
We charge £10 for all other consultations, this is redeemable against your service when booked following your consultation.
No Show & Cancellation Policy
We completely understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes appointments need to be changed. We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible so we have the opportunity to offer your appointment to another client.
If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may be unable to carry out your service, and your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
Please contact the salon by phone, text or email if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
Appointments with a booking deposit
If you give 7 days’ or more notice, your deposit will be transferred to your new appointment.
If you cancel with less than 7 days’ notice, your deposit will be forfeited.
Late cancellations and no-shows
Any appointment cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, or where you fail to attend without notice, may be charged up to 100% of the booked service value, regardless of whether a deposit has been paid.
We reserve the right to request a deposit or full payment in advance for future bookings following repeated late cancellations or missed appointments.
Deposits
Some appointments require a booking deposit. Deposits are always required for hair extension appointments and longer colour services, and we may also request a deposit for other services at our discretion.
Where a deposit is required, we will send you a secure payment link via our booking system by text message approximately 14 days before your appointment.
Deposits are non-refundable once paid. However, if you need to rearrange your appointment and provide at least 7 days’ notice, we will transfer your deposit to your new appointment date.
If you cancel with less than 7 days’ notice, fail to attend your appointment, or are unable to proceed with your appointment due to not meeting our skin testing requirements, your deposit will be forfeited.
The remaining balance for your appointment is payable on completion of your service.
Redo Policy
At Hair at the Hideaway, we want every client to leave feeling happy with their hair. If you are not completely satisfied with the result of your service, please let us know within 7 days of your appointment.
We ask that you contact us as soon as possible so we can assess your concerns. In most cases, we will invite you back to the salon for a consultation so we can review the service and, where appropriate, make any necessary adjustments.
Please note:
Redo requests must be made within 7 days of your original appointment.
We reserve the right to assess your hair in person before deciding on the appropriate course of action.
Redo appointments are offered to correct the original service and are not intended for a change of mind or for a different cut, colour, or style than originally agreed.
Services carried out by another salon or stylist after your appointment may void our ability to offer a complimentary correction.
Plus Ones
You may bring one person with you to your appointments if necessary, but we ask no more than this as we are limited on space at the salon. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed in the building.
Your Belongings
We do not take any responsibility for damage or staining on your personal belongings.
Skin Testing
We will not perform a colour service without our clients being a Colourstart member or having 6 monthly blob tests.
If you are a blob test client, the blob test needs to be carried out every 6 months at least 48 hours before your colour service – we ask that you are responsible for your own blob test expiry dates – we cannot take any responsibility for this.
How Colourstart Can Help You
Colourstart is a clean and convenient way to screen for potential allergy to one of the chemicals, called para phenylenediamine (PPD), found in most hair colours. To reduce the risk of experiencing an allergic reaction to hair colour, some manufacturers recommend screening for allergy by using an Allergy Alert Test (AAT) on the skin.
Colourstart can be used instead of the AAT to test for allergy to PPD.
To purchase Colourstart please contact us at info@hairatthehideaway.co.uk
Here is a link to the patient information leaflet if you’d like to read more – Colourstart are also very helpful over the phone if you have any questions.
Hair History
Clients are responsible for providing an honest and accurate history of any previous colour, bleach, box dye, keratin treatments, perms, henna, metallic salts, or other chemical services. Failure to disclose previous treatments may affect the final result and could compromise the condition of your hair. Hair at the Hideaway cannot accept responsibility for outcomes where inaccurate or incomplete information has been provided.
* After Colour Services
An express style service is a 15-minute appointment that is required if you do not want a blow-dry or haircut after your colour appointment.
